Using Antiseptic When Treating A Wound

It is always a wise precautionary move to use antiseptic when treating a wound- apply it only on the wound margins (around the wound). However, you should always remember that some antiseptics are not suitable to be applied around deep wounds. If you accidentally get the wound wet, dry it thoroughly and re-apply the antiseptic. You may leave small clean wounds open, especially if you find it difficult to apply or retain dressings on them. Make sure that they are thoroughly dry and apply closure strips.
