How To Stop A Wound From Bleeding?

If what you have is a deep or puncture wound, examine the surrounding skin for tender lumps or points that indicate the likelihood of a foreign body.

The wound must first be properly cleaned. Next, apply a thick square of clean gauze firmly using your fingers; the limb must be elevated at the same time as much as possible. Keep this up until clotting has occurred (between 7-8 minutes).

If the bleeding persists, seek medical attention.
